Books I've read over the last week or so:
The Court of the Air by Stephen Hunt.
The Perfect Poison by Amanda Quick.
Complete Fairy Tales of Oscar Wilde.
Edge of Hunger by Rhiannon Byrd.
Nauti Intentions by Lora Leigh.
You're So Vein by Christine Warren.
Beyond Heaving Bosoms by Sarah Wendell and Candy Tan.
The Immortal Hunter by Lynsay Sands.
I'm trying to decide which book to start next. The Scarlet Pimpernel, Time Enough for Love (Heinlein, not a romance) or The Difference Engine. Hmmm...

I need help. I'd like to read something different (meaning not overhyped), but I tend to like books that are edgy and don't reek of "cheese," if you know what I'm saying. I love memoirs. I love angst and sexual frustration - although not in real life, hahaha...
ReplyDeleteDo you have any recommendations? I have kind of an odd palate. I'm reading 1421 right now and just finished the three Wicked books. Strange, I know.
Oh, Scarlet Pimpernel always goes down well. And it's short, a nice little snack.
ReplyDeleteloren - i would recommend Journey of a Thousand Miles, the autobiography of Lang Lang, a Chinese pianist. I am terrible at this, I can't ever think of what to tell people. Try The Sugar Queen and Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Shaffer and Barrows. Oh and there is now a sequel to Chocolat, the title is The Girl With No Shadow by Joanne Harris.
ReplyDeleteGlo - I finished Wilde's fairy tales and then read (today) two by Rebecca Kent, both Bellehaven House mysteries. Not bad, short little mysteries, set in England at the beginning of the 20th century. So the Baroness will be a treat for another day. :D
I vote for "Time Enough For Love". Just because I like Heinlein... and remember reading it in high school (when it was new, lol). ;)
